What Port Orange Movers Get Asked Before Move Day, Answered
Is Quality Moving Experts licensed, and do you use your own crew?▾
Yes. We hold FDACS intrastate mover registration and operate under US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves, with $1,000,000 in cargo coverage on every load. We're not a broker who forwards your move to a subcontracted crew — the 12 people on our payroll, including our two crew chiefs, are the ones who show up and carry your belongings.
When's the right time to get on the calendar?▾
We recommend booking 2-3 weeks out for local moves and 4-6 weeks for long-distance relocations, though we can often accommodate shorter notice depending on the calendar. Summer months and the weeks around hurricane season fill up fastest.
How does your pricing work?▾
We price moves two ways. Hourly jobs run $129/hr for a 2-mover truck, $169/hr for 3 movers, and $209/hr for 4 movers, and suit smaller or flexible moves. Full-home moves usually fit a flat-rate band instead — Studio/1BR $450-$650, 2BR $650-$950, 3BR $950-$1,400, and 4+BR $1,400-$2,200 — based on a walkthrough or detailed inventory call.
Is a deposit required to hold my date?▾
Yes, a $200 refundable deposit holds your date and crew. It's credited directly to your final invoice, so it's not an extra charge — it just reserves your spot on the schedule.
What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy?▾
Cancel or reschedule at least 72 hours before your move and your $200 deposit is fully refunded. Weather and hurricane-season evacuation orders are handled separately — see below.
Are there charges that show up outside the flat-rate number?▾
Flat rates cover the move itself — loading, transport, and unloading within the estimated scope. They don't include packing materials unless requested ahead of time, disassembly or reassembly of unusual furniture not disclosed during the quote call, long carry fees if the truck can't park near the entrance, or stairs and elevator time beyond what was quoted. We flag any of these during your walkthrough so there are no surprises on move day.
What happens if something is damaged during the move?▾
Every load is covered by $1,000,000 in cargo insurance. If something is damaged, report it to our office within 24 hours of the move so we can open a claim, document the item, and get it resolved.
How do you handle scheduling during hurricane season?▾
Every written quote between June and November includes free rescheduling if a storm or evacuation order affects your move date — no change fees, no forfeited deposit. Danielle personally reviews the storm-season schedule and rides along on many of these relocations.
Do you ever subcontract any part of the move to another company?▾
No. All 12 of our team members are direct employees, and every truck on the road for your move is one of our own 7 trucks. We don't hand off jobs to subcontracted labor at any point.
Can you handle a move across state lines?▾
Yes. We operate under US DOT and MC authority, which authorizes us for interstate relocations. We regularly run the Orlando, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Tampa corridors, with the same crew and trucks handling the job start to finish.
